RWJF's Active For Life

To increase physical activity in adults 50 and older, this pilot campaign persuaded target audiences to walk regularly. Spread across five cities, the campaign’s media promotion, peer support, and step-counter determinants were weighed against controlled cities. While the campaign produced modest increases in physical activity, the underlying motivational analysis will be used by upcoming AARP campaigns prioritizing improved behavioral sustainability.
